This board allows for the connection of up to 4 Duet 3 Toolboards to the Duet 3 Mainboard at one time, greatly simplifying the CAN-FD bus and power wiring.
Tool board power outputs are individually bused, and the CAN-FD bus connections can by bypassed if less than 4 tools are connected.
These can be connected to other Duet 3 CAN-FD bus expansion boards (or other tool distribution boards) via the RJ11 connector for CAN-OUT.
The Duet 2 Tool Distribution Board v0.5 uses JST ZH connectors for the CAN-FD Bus.
The new Tool Distribution Board v1.0 uses JST PA connectors instead of JST ZH for the CAN-FD Bus as these are latching and significantly easier to crimp. In addition the board supports connecting CAN-FD stubs (i.e. a single pair from the tool distribution board to the tool) as an optional alternative to the existing daisy chain configuration.
We still have some stock of the Duet 3 Tool Distribution Board v0.5 so if you would prefer to keep using this version for the time being please let us know and we will supply the earlier version, whilst stocks last. For new designs, we recommend using the new version.
